About Dowagiac, MI - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Dowagiac is a lovely Michigan community with friendly neighbors and citizens and an easygoing, slow pace of life. It is the perfect place to raise kids. The seasonal weather means that residents get the best of all worlds from snow to sunshine and everything in between.  Summertime in town is reminiscent of a simpler time when kids rode bikes all day and came in late for dinner. Midwestern values are still very important to the people in this area but they are always progressing and moving forward, as well. With many elite universities in the area and an abundance of natural beauty, it is a community that is lovely both inside and out.

The town maintains Water Tower Park, which consists of a softball field, basketball courts, a playground, and pavilion complete with grills and picnic tables, and more. It is an ideal place for a family day out or a birthday party in the warmer seasons.  Heddon Park provides bank-fishing and is likely the most popular fishing spot in Dowagiac. Fishing sports and picnicking are all wonderful but no one can dispute that the loveliest natural area in the town is Dowagiac Woods.

Dowagiac Woods Nature Sanctuary is its full name but it is generally referred to as Dowagiac Woods. The 384-acre wooded sanctuary is maintained and preserved by the Michigan Nature Association.  These woods were practically unidentified until 1975 when it came to the attention of the Michigan Nature Association because of a report from a member that Blue-eyed Mary grew there. Today, it is one MNA’s biggest sanctuaries. More than fifty species of wildflowers bloom in the spring. Tulip trees can be found in great numbers in the central forest.  A top attraction in the Dowagiac Woods Nature Sanctuary is the abundance of blue-eyed Mary.  It is also home to about 50 different species of birds and nearly fifty kinds of trees.
